What is an Infrared Sauna?

An infrared sauna is a type of sauna that uses light to create heat. This type of sauna is sometimes called a Far-Infrared Sauna — “far” describes where the infrared waves fall on the light spectrum. A traditional sauna uses heat to warm the air, which in turn warms your body.

How does an Infrared Sauna work?

Infrared heaters warm the body in the same manner as natural sunlight. Infrared heat therapy uses the wavelength of the visible and non-visible light spectrum of sunlight that heats the body normally. Traditional saunas raise the temperature of the air to a very high level within the chamber to warm the body.

How many times a week should you use an Infrared Sauna?

Continue prescribed medication while taking saunas unless directed otherwise. You may use a sauna just twice a week or as often as twice a day. However, start with no more than one session daily for no longer than 20 minutes. If you are very debilitated, begin with once a week.

Are saunas good for your health?

Since the blood vessels relax and dilate in a sauna, blood flow increases and the experience can help reduce tension in the joints and relieve sore muscles. Saunas might also help those with chronic pain and arthritis. 

How hot is an Infrared Sauna?

Average pre heating time is 30-45 mins, while a 4-person corner unit could take a little bit longer than a 2-person sauna. The ideal temperature for an infrared sauna is between 110°F to 130°F. Remember, temperature is not important; the fact that you are receiving infrared heat is what matters.
